Agricultural potential and CPTAQ applications

An application to the Commission de protection du territoire agricole du Québec (CPTAQ) — subdivision or transfer of agricultural land — rests largely on the agricultural potential of the lot in question. I establish a signed agronomic diagnostic, based on LiDAR, Sentinel-2, and IRDA pedological data, ready to be filed as part of your application.

Who this is for landowners, developers, notaries, lawyers, municipalities, and MRCs preparing a CPTAQ application.

Soil health diagnostic

A soil health assessment combining targeted soil sampling (0–20 cm), laboratory analysis of physical, chemical, and biological indicators, and a Quebec-calibrated scoring model (Gauthier et al., 2023). LiDAR and satellite data guide the choice of sampling zones and support the interpretation of within-field variability, a complementary approach to the published model. This diagnostic does not include a full pedological soil profile (horizon-by-horizon description in a pit).
